Gary Leonard Woodring, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Valley Center, Kansas. Gary was born in Wichita, Kansas to Clyde Leroy and Mary Margaret (Murphy) Woodring on March 10, 1959. He was a long time resident of Valley Center where he attended school and church with his family. As a young boy he enjoyed trips to the Grandmas' in Oklahoma to their farms.

At Valley Center High School he was part of Pop Choir and assisted with stage productions and worked part time at Dekalb wheat research farm. He graduated in 1977 with a scholarship to WSU. At WSU, Gary studied computer science. After finishing a semester at WSU, he enjoyed working back stage with the Valley Players Summer Theatre with a nickname of "Woody". He drove delivery trucks and worked warehouse for Wichita Frozen Foods with a nickname of "Giant". He stayed with the same basic wholesale food company as it was bought out by Cloverdale, F & E Wholesale, and Ben E Keith Wholesale until he retired. After working night shifts, Gary remained a night owl. His hobbies were reading sci-fi books and watching movies and programming his computer. Gary also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his sister Linda Woodring, brother Reece Woodring, and sister Gale Nachtigal (Kelly); other family and friends.

Graveside Service at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. at LifePoint Church in Valley Center, Kansas.
