GARY  LYNN  BIRNEY, 55 years old, former Minister and Aircraft employee, passed away December 27, 2015. He was born in Sublette, Kansas to Walter and Iva Birney. He was a graduate of Copeland High School and received his Bachelor's Degree of Theology and a Minor in Greek from Ozark Christian College in 1990. He loved ministering to people, but most of all enjoyed his family. He is survived by his wife Tammi; children Nicole and Casey McWhirt of Salina, Oklahoma, Matthew and Stephanie (Parmely) Birney of Wichita, Kansas, Trevor and Meagun Birney of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Gabrielle Birney and Kevrick Cox of Lawrence, Kansas; grandchildren Montana, Remington, Nicholas, Zoie, Chelsea, Audrey and Emma; parents Walter and Iva Birney of Copeland, Kansas; brothers Mickey and Alisha Birney of Ellsworth, Kansas, Scotty and Kelly Birney of Garden City, Kansas; sisters Lorrie and Oscar Ortiz of Overland Park, and Lindie Andreas of Copeland, Kansas; sister-in-law Lori and Kevin Gariss; uncle and aunt Ron and Kaye Guinn; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Sedgwick Christian Church; Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, at the Christian Church, 514 N. Franklin, Sedgwick, Kansas with graveside following at the Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick. Memorials may be designated in his memory to the Ozark Christian College, 1111 N.
