Obituary

VALLEY CENTER, KS
Weber, Franklin Dean, 77, retired Groendyke Terminal Manager, beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend, passed peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2011. He was born on the family farm near McWillie, Oklahoma, to Frank Weber and Cora Mae (Meliza) Weber. He attended McWillie Grade School and graduated from Helena High School in Helena, Oklahoma. After graduation he worked at Republic Sizemagraph. In 1954, he married Shirley Packard in Enid, Oklahoma. They both worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. He entered the Army in 1955 where he served in Anchorage, Alaska. After his term in the Army, he returned to Boeing for two more years. He was employed by South Centeral Kansas Liquid Feed Company and Spread Fertilizer until he became Manager at Groendyke Transport in Valley Center, Kansas, until his retirement on April 15, 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Brenda Weber in December, 2009.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Weber; sons, Randy Weber of Wichita and David Weber of Carbondale, KS; grandchildren, Sara Weber of Salina, Jacob Weber of Iola, Adam Stover of Haysville, and Franklin Oviatt of Bel Plaine, KS; sister, Edith Jones of Aline, OK. His humor infected others and brightened their days. May he be remembered for his positive, loving sense of humor that he used to show his love and appreciation of others. . In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Valley Center Community Scholarship Fund, % Les Anderson P.O. Box 218, Valley Center, Kansas 67147 or American Heart Association, 8630 E. 32nd Crt N., Wichita, KS 67226. Visitation 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 31 at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center; Services 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 1, at Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. 5th St. Burial following the service at Kechi Township Cemetery. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center had charge.
