WICHITA

Frances J. Knowles went home to be with the Lord June 15, 2014. Born July 11, 1920, in Nevada, Mo., to Jasper and Mamie Haner. Frances gave her heart and life to Jesus Christ when she was a young adult at Bethany Nazarene Church in Hutchinson, Kan. She and husband Elmer Knowles owned and operated Elmer's Camper Sales in Hutchinson. Frances taught Sunday School, was a Brownie and Caravan leader for years as she loved helping and giving to people. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Howard Whithorn; and husband, Elmer. Frances is survived by sister, Pauline (Chester) Lawrence; son, Larry (Joyce) Whithorn of Hutchinson, Kan.; daughters, Carole Richardson of Chase, Kan., Sharon Snell of Hutchinson, Kan., Bonnie (Ron) Miller of Edmond, Okla., and Rona Smith of Wichita, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, who were all the light of her life! Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Berean Baptist Church, 1620 Center Street, Hutchinson, Kan. In lieu of flowers, her family requested a donation to Berean Baptist Church, 1620 Center St, Hutchinson, KS 67501. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center has charge.
