Frances Verlene
(Adams) Kutz
April 18, 1929 – May 8, 2025
Verlene Kutz, age 96, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. She was born on April 18, 1929, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and lived a full and vibrant life defined by devotion to family, faith, and community.
On April 10, 1946, Verlene married the love of her life, Robert Harry Kutz. Together, they built a life rooted in love, raising four children and nurturing a growing legacy that now includes many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Verlene was a woman of many talents and great determination. She worked as a banker and later retired in 1994 from Century Oil, where she served as assistant purchasing agent. A true homemaker at heart, she created a warm and welcoming environment for all who knew her.
In her free time, Verlene enjoyed golfing, gardening, and reading. She was also a dedicated and active member of her church, where her kindness and gentle spirit touched many lives.
Verlene will be remembered for her strength, her grace, and the deep love she showed her family and community. Her legacy of warmth, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Verlene was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Kenny, grandson Bryan, daughter-in-law Mary, her parents and four siblings. Verlene is survived by her children Bob (Ann) Kutz, Serena Shofler, Russell Kutz, Nancy Kutz; grandchildren Trey Kutz, Kent (Rachel) Kutz, Justin (Gretel) Shofler, Heather (David) Steinhauser, Craig (BJ) Kutz, Jordan (Jerry) Little, Jaden Kutz, April (Max) Unruh, Karen (Frank) Cornejo; twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Verlene's life will be held at the Valley Center First United Methodist Church with a viewing at noon with the service to follow at 1 pm. A Memorial has been established with the Valley Center First United Methodist Church.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
