FERN LORANA (MERCER) LAKEY
, 93 years, passed to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was born in Wichita, Kansas to William Thomas Mercer and Millie Talitha (Fowler) Mercer. She attended North High School. Fern worked for many years at Crown Drug Post Office and TG&Y. She married the love of her life Leonard E. Lakey, Sr. Together they loved to travel visiting family across the states. They also enjoyed spending time at their Marion County Lake cabin. Fern loved to read, spend time as a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent for her church. One of her greatest loves was her grandchildren and going to their activities. Fern is survived by her sons, Leonard (Edith) Lakey, Jr. of Wichita and Robert (Sharon) Lakey of Park City; grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Armour, Michael Lakey, Jamie Heller, Amanda (Tom) Aikens, Christopher (Tami) Lakey and Andrew (Clarisa) Lakey; great grandchildren, Colton, Dylan, Olivia, Cody, Skyler, Mandalyn, Ashleigh, Austin, Aubrie, Amy, Anna, Abe and Wyatt; many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Lakey, Sr., her parents William and Millie Mercer, siblings: Melissa Castor, Leona Butterfield, Myrtle Edson, Mable Jansen, William Mercer, David Mercer, Gertrude Keller, Virgil Mercer, Robert Mercer, Belva Moore, Dumah Edson, Carl Mercer, Howard Mercer and Houston Mercer.
