MAIZE, KANSAS
EVERETT EARL THAYER, SR.,
80, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to George Walter Thayer and Josephine Loretta (Shaiffer) Thayer. He was a graduate of Eudora High School, Eudora, Kansas. He joined the Marine Corps and went to Cherry Pointe, North Carolina, where he served four years active duty and then the reserves. He took a job with Boeing where he met Marylin (Ubel) Lindeman. Everett worked at Boeing several years and took computer classes and was then laid off. He applied and was hired at Fourth National Bank. During the next 27 ½ years of employment the bank changed names several times and is now known as Bank of America. After retiring from there, he drove a transport bus for KETCH for 7 ½ years. Over the years he volunteered for many areas of service; scout leader, Maize baseball/softball program, Maize fall festival, election board, church library, Samartian's Purse shoebox ministry and disaster relief programs to name a few. He was very committed to his church, family and friends. He will be greatly missed but is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Everett is survived by his wife Marylin Thayer; children, Larry (Mary) Lindeman, Sherilyn Lindeman, Everett Jr. (Lisa) Thayer, Loretta (Jay) Yoss, James (Trecia) Thayer; grandchildren, Jonna (Tom) Showalter, Chad (Kari) Lindeman, Amanda (Brock) Wynn, Justin (Casey) Thayer, Alecia Thayer, Shannon (Cody) Varnell, Kristine (Rocky) Carden, Preston Yoss, Joshua (Amber) Thayer, Jennifer (Clayton) Wyant, Jessica (Tim) Smith, Kyle (Amber) Vanover, Jason (Neeka) Vanover and Mandi Vanover; 21 great grandchildren; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandson Scott Lindeman, parents George and Josephine Thayer, brothers William Thayer, Albert Thayer, sisters Georgia Loretta Thayer and Baby Thayer.

5-7 p.m., Monday, October 12, at First Baptist Church, 627 James, Maize. Graveside
Service
will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 13, at Maize Park Cemetery, Maize, Ks followed by a 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church, 627 James, Maize. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his memory to First Baptist Church, 627 James, Maize, Ks 67101 and/or Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill Ste 403, Wichita, Ks 67206.
