Everett (Van) Sylvanous Woods, 85, passes away on July 4, 2023, at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt, Kansas.  He was born at home near Council, Idaho to Everett and Nellie (Willis) Woods.  He lived in Idaho till he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and graduated in 1959. He was an associate pastor of numerous churches for three years in Denver, Colorado as well as Bible Baptist Church in Dodge City, Kansas for seven years. He also pastored in Liberal, Syracuse, Kinsley, and Turon, Kansas.  He did maintenance at Walmart till he was 83 years old.

He enjoyed studying his Bible and studying history. He enjoyed sharing the things that he learned with his family and everyone that he met.  He always shared his love for Christ with others.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth Joel Woods.

He is survived by his spouse Marjorie, Pratt, Kansas.  Children Devon, (Vonnie)(Justin) Heick of Kingsville, Mo, Rev. Jeff Woods, (Gina) of Lake City, Kansas and Brendon Woods of Sun City, Kansas.  He has 13 grandchildren. Zack Heick, Morgan Heick, Lauren Heick, Felicia (Adam) Mills, Sylvia Preena, Lauri Woods, Garrett (Angelica) Woods, Juan Woods, Lydia Woods, Ethan (Maggie) Woods, Caleb Woods, Olivia Woods, Noah Woods and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth Woods.

There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
