EVELYN  PAULINE  (HAMMERSCHMIDT) HENRY , 92, passed away Saturday December 29, 2018 in Newton, Kansas.  She was born in Victoria, Kansas to Clem and Catherine (Stang) Hammerschmidt. She enjoyed working as an LPN serving others. She is survived by her daughters Charlene (Ron) Fortner of Valley Center and Bernice Morris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandsons Daniel Fortner and Matthew (Tarah) Fortner; great grandchildren Mae Fortner and Pierce Fortner. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ron Walters, son-in-law James L. Morris, brother Elmer Hammerschmidt, sisters, Mary Schmidt, Tina Riedel, Albina Schmidt, Helen Bresaw, Heubertine Steckline and Dolores Mermis.

Mass will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, January 3 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3130 N. Amidon, Wichita, Kansas. Graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, January 4, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, Kansas. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com .
