Eva "Memaw" Mae (Herdt) Newell, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Wichita, KS on March 6, 2021.

Eva was born on May 30, 1952 in Russell, KS to Adam and Frieda Herdt. She graduated from Russell High School in 1970. She worked a lifetime in the airline industry including Boeing and Cessna, and retired in 2009. Eva is survived by her husband David Allen Newell.

She is also survived by her sister, Myrna Wells and husband Ken, sons; Jason Dinkel and wife Krystal, Adam Dinkel and wife Whitney, daughter; Stephani Melzer and husband Jay, grandkids; Trisha, Carina, Layton, Gracelyn, Roman, and great grandson, Cooper. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other great friends.

Eva had a passion for taking care of babies and growing long lasting relationships. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed being the best Memaw to them.

Visitation with family will be from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
