Obituary

LONGTON, KANSAS

EUGENE  RANDOLPH  THOMPSON , 99, of Longton, Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Medicalodge of Independence, Kansas.  He was born in Larned,  Kansas,  November 28, 1918 to Riley H. and Carrie (Kitterman) Thompson.  He attended Larned High School and graduated in 1936.  He worked at Boeing as a welder until his retirement January 1, 1985.  He was a farmer in the Furley, Ks area for several years.  He married Ruby Roberts in 1942, and adopted a daughter.  Ruby preceded him in death in 1965.  He married Norma Beem in 1967 and she passed away in 2001.  He married Corrine Roberts in 2002 and she passed away in 2012.  Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne Thompson, and a step daughter Joyce McBeath.  He was a long time member of the Furley Methodist Church in Furley, Kansas. Surviving family members are his brother Paul Thompson of Council Grove, Kansas,  daughter Joyce McQuillan of Grandview, Missouri, two stepdaughters, Sharon Ferguson and Mona Cody, both of Longton, Kansas, and two stepsons, Dallas Beem and Bruce Beem of Longton, Kansas, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Gene enjoyed family, farming, fishing and was involved with his church.
Services are Monday, February 19, 10:00 viewing and 11:00 service at the Furley United Methodist Church, 11400 E. 101 st N., Furley, Kansas. Graveside following at the White Chapel Cemetery, 1806 N. Oliver, Wichita, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his memory to the Furley United Methodist Church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
