Boatman, Eugene W., 82, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Gene was born March 9, 1930 in Izard County, Arkansas to Euen and Ollie May (Livley) Boatman. On December 12, 1949, he married his beloved Ina Lee Pruitt. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways and retired after 38 years of service. Gene will be remembered for enjoying good conversation and fellowship, his devotion to his family and friends and for his kind and giving ways. Gene will be missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ina Lee of the home; daughters, Kassie (Steven) Knight of Rhome, Texas, Priscilla (Jeffery) Saville of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Mason (Cariss) Robbins, Lori Knight of Wichita and David Knight of Wichita, Chad (Dawn) Saville of The Colony, Texas; four great grandchildren; brother, Ed Boatman of Yakima, Washington, sisters, Hazel Owens and Willie Jared of Calico Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euen and Ollie Mae Boatman; brother, Johnnie Boatman and sister, Gladys Purdum. Visitation with the family, 5-7 p.m., Monday, August 20; Services 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, both will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
