ELIZABETH MARY (GIEFER) TRUMAN
'Liz',86, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born eldest of eight children to Bernard P. Giefer and Agnes Theresa (Horsch) Giefer in rural Wellington, Kansas. She was a graduate of Wellington High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. On June 30, 1952, at All Saints St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, James E. Truman, Sr. They were blessed in this union with ten children. She always loved serving others and ministered to so many before retiring from the Catholic Care Center. Liz will be remembered for her doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, wedding cakes, helping with the pancake feeds and so many events with her children for sports and community. She had a great love for life, yet the greatest was for her family. She is survived by her husband of 65 yrs, Jim; children, Jet (Debbie) Truman of Valley Center, Dan (Beth) Truman of Great Falls, MT, Chris (Diane) Truman of Valley Center, Sheri (Albert) Cagle of Douglass, Wayne (Jerri) Truman of Valley Center, Tom (Jane) Truman of Kechi, Sheila (Jay) Hess of Valley Center, Pat (Paula) Truman of Belton, MO, Mike (Sarah) Truman of Wichita and Shelli (David) McElfresh of Emporia; 37 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren; brother Bud (Kathryn) Giefer of Wellington, CO; sisters, Katie McGehee of Haysville, Jane Stallbaumer of Wichita, Maryrose Rosa of Wichita, Louise (John) Wendling of Topeka, Teresa Ann (Johnny) Biermannof Leoti, KS; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Agnes Giefer, brother Richard Giefer, brother-in-laws, Frank McGehee, William Stallbaumer, Ted Rosa and daughter-in-law Vicki Truman.

Mass of Christian burial
10 a.m., Friday, August 11, all will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3130 N. Amidon, Wichita. Graveside following the service at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, Valley Center, Kansas.
