Loewen, Edythe Earlene (Shellenberger), 95, retired USD 262 Elementary Teacher, beloved mom, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was born in Marietta, Oklahoma to Elbert Earl Shellenberger and Bonnie Effie (McClure) Shellenberger. Edythe married Orlando Roland Loewen on March 12, 1943 in Liberal, Kansas. She is survived by her daughter Mary Sue (Carl) Nelson Nord; grandchildren, Scott (Paige) Nelson, and Steve (Amy) Nelson; great grandchildren, Brett, Tanner and Brady; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Orlando, son-in-law Jerry Nelson, parents Earl and Bonnie Shellenberger, sister Joyce Towry and brother Earl Shellenberger, Jr. Visitation 5-7 pm, Monday, April 29; Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30 both will be held at Valley Center First United Methodist Church.
