EDNA C. OURSLER,
89, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016. She was born in Newton, Kansas to Eli Benjamin Butts and Nancy Caroline 'Lina' (Branson) Butts. She was a graduate of Newton High School. Edna began as a waitress at the age of 13 to 16 as she worked at the Harvey House during World War II. She also worked at Ralph's, Ann's Place, White House, Roundup in El Dorado, Santa Fe, 81 – Café, Leonida's, West Wind Café and at Dake's for 13 yrs, retiring in 1990. She married Kermit Oursler on October 10, 1944, to this union were 3 sons. She is survived by her sons Frank (Sharon), Harley (Pam) and David (Janet); 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Kermit Oursler, parents Eli and Lina Butts, siblings Delmire Butts, Thelma Giles, Cleatta Sole, Veleda Seguine, Elsie LaGree, Esther Ream and 1 great grandchild. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 30; and Service 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, both held at Baker Funeral Home, Peabody, Kansas. Graveside following the service at White Water Center Cemetery, 20th and Timber Rd, Peabody, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice.
