Earl Edward Kiger, age 78 of Wichita, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 surrounded by his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas on Monday, October 22 at 3:30 p.m. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth M. Beeton, son Jerry W. Stepp, his parents Fredrick E. Kiger and Cora M. Lester, brother Gene Kiger, sisters Ruby Wittsell, Francis Kiger, Margaret Wills, Marilyn Cotton and Carolyn Williams. Earl is survived by his son's Larry Stepp, Gary Kiger of Wichita and Jamie Phillips of Branson, MO; daughters Kerry Vega of Wichita and Sherry Ward of High Springs, FL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Earlene (Ted) Robinson of Corsicana, Texas, and Patricia (Tony) Filiano of Wichita, Kansas, brother-in-laws Richard (Mona) Beeton of Wichita and Jim Beeton of Tulsa. Earl will be fondly remembered as an avid fisherman, bowler, and bingo player who always put his family first. Earl also served his country proudly as a Navy Vietnam Veteran 1961-1971 and received National Defense service medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Fleet Marine Force Combat Operation Insignia on Vietnam Ribbon.
