Douglas Allan Newman, 70, of Valley Center, Kansas, passed away on Monday May 5, 2021 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center.  He was born in Rockville Center, New York to Edgar and Virginia (Kahnhauser) Newman.

Doug served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. After receiving his bachelor's degree, he went on to be a hospital administrator.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and cooking. Doug was an avid fan of the Chiefs and the Shockers. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Caroline.

He is survived by his son John (Lara) Newman and granddaughter Caroline of Overland Park; brother Geoff (Maria) Newman of Rancho Murieta, CA, and niece Carrie Gazda & family of Murieta, CA, niece Erin Castellanos & family of Alameda, CA and nephew Brian Newman of of Oakland, CA; sister Lorie Talbott of Camano Island, WA, niece Brooke Adams & family of Green River, WY, nephew Austin Talbott of Lynnwood, WA; friends "The Three Golf Amigos" including John Loudon & Mike Ryan of Wichita, KS, as well as many friends throughout the country.  Doug was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Virginia Newman.
