Dorothy Alma (Ochs) Speer, former long time Valley Center resident, passed away on July 19, 2023 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton, Kansas. She was born to Orville & Hattie (Kilgore) Ochs on July 30, 1925 in Sublette, Kansas and became a Christian at a youth event at Plymell Church in 1940. After living in several states, she moved to Valley Center and worked 25 years at Leekers for boss and good friend, Chris Steindler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband O. L. Speer, son Tommy Wilson Schreiber, grandson Jason Sisler, and her siblings, Archie, Eugene, Eileen and Kenneth.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Linda Gil, Kathy Schreiber and Sharon (Jerry) Sisler, grandchildren: Brandi, Aaron, Sandra, Jessica, Dawn, Ivan, Cody, Eli, Enoch, Hannah and Amy, a host of friends including the Manor staff and dear friends Lisa, Danielle, Devin & Kenzie Prideaux.
