Obituary

FALL RIVER,   KANSAS   formerly Park City

DONNA  MARIE  (HERRON)  BRINKMEYER , 61, beautiful wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend, peacefully entered heaven surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur 'Willie' Herron and Ruth "Sally" (Forgie) Herron.  She married the love of her life Dwight, December 29, 1980 and raised three boys in Park City, Kansas.  When their youngest was a freshman in high school, they moved out to the place Dwight and Donna first met, Fall River Lake, Kansas. When Dwight and Donna first met thru their mutual friend Denise, it was not an instant connection.  Donna had long hair that hung down over her face and was very shy and they didn't hit it off.  They second time they met, Donna had cut her hair short and it was then love at first sight, well, second sight.  When Donna broke up with Dwight she tried to remain friends, but he told her he couldn't do that as he knew one day they would be married.  Many years later they reconnected, once again thru Denise.  Their first date, the second time around, was December 29, 1979 and a year later, on that same date, they were married.  They just celebrated their 38 th wedding anniversary.  Donna, loved the Wizard of Oz, painting and doing crafts in her shed and gossiping on the porch with her friends.  But the thing she loved the most was being a wife, mom, and Nanny to her eleven grandchildren treasuring each moment.  She would do anything for those babies and they knew they could talk her into anything.  But they also knew she would always be there for them anytime they needed her.  The grandchildren were her everything, and they adored her just as much.  Donna is survived by her husband Dwight Brinkmeyer; sons, Brent Brinkmeyer, Shannon (Megan) Brinkmeyer and David Brinkmeyer; grandchildren, Tyler, Alexee, Xander, Christian, Brenna, Lily, Haydn, Teagn, Logan, Hudson and Noah; brothers, Eddie Turner, David Herron, Mark Herron and Lester Herron; sister Ruth Hakim and Dianne Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur 'Willie' Herron and Sally Herron, sister Suzanne Kernes.
