Learned, Donald Robert, 92, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013. He was born in rural Park Township, Maize, Kansas, to Robert Precley Learned and Ola Irena (VanHorn) Learned. He served in the U.S. Army as a Pilot in World War II. On December 24, 1941, he married Elizabeth Ruth Arrowsmith. Don worked as a salesman for Lusco Brick Company in his career. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Learned of Maize; granddaughters, Diana Learned of San Francisco, CA, Angela Learned of Manhattan, Ks; brother, Ronald Learned of Tuscan, AZ; sisters-in-law, Hazel Milen and Helen Tinkham; niece, Becky Rupp. He is preceded by his wife Elizabeth Learned, parents Robert and Ola Learned, sisters Barbara Kuhn and Lorraine Evans. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 22, at Maize Congregational Church, 101 W Central, Maize, Kansas. Interment will follow the service at the Maize Park Cemetery, 12733 W. 53rd St. N., Maize, Kansas. Memorials to the Plymouth Congregational Church, 402 N. Commercial, Sedgwick, Ks 67135.
