Dolores Kathryn Quenzer, 94, long time resident of Valley Center, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Pittsburg, Kansas. She was born in Cawker City, Kansas to Henry and Susan (Thomas) Koster. After graduation from Beloit High School, Beloit, Kansas she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator where she met the love of her life, Clifford Quenzer. They were married on April 16, 1953 and moved to Clay Center, Kansas in 1956. There they raised their 4 children, then moved to Valley Center in 1975. She was a long time member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Wichita. She was a pillar of strength to all of her family and will be dearly missed. Dolores' past time love was meeting with friends to play bridge or other games. Her greatest love was her family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford Quenzer, grandsons Zackary Tilson and Dayton Quenzer, parents Henry & Susan Koster, brothers Charles (Leona) Koster, Cecil (Martha) Koster, Jerome Koster, Robert Koster, Raymond Koster, Richard (Rosie) Koster and Harold Koster, her sisters Marcella Hyde and Janice Koster, brother-in-law Wayne Lingg, sister-in-law Phyllis Koster.
Dolores is survived by her children Kathy (Don) Pearson of Valley Center, Steve (Deena) Quenzer of Valley Center, Kevin (Tracy) Quenzer of Valley Center and Denice (David) Tilson of Pittsburg, Kansas; grandchildren Ryan (Jamie) Pearson, Krista Pearson, Shayla (Derek) Hoefgen, Derek Quenzer, Dylan (Aly) Quenzer, Brittni (Josh) Brown, Morgan (Luke) Weber and Joshua Tilson; great grandchildren Kadin Pearson, Kennedy Pearson, Eayn Hoefgen, Adalynn Hoefgen, Coltan Quenzer, Autymn Quenzer, Ambree Quenzer, Kenzlee Quenzer, Kaelem Quenzer, Cambrea Quenzer, Marci Ann Brown, Forrest Brown, Marilynn Brown and Wesley Weber; brother Hank Koster and sister Marilyn Lingg; sister-in-laws Yvonne Koster and Ailene Koster; many other family and friends
Rosary 10:00 am with Mass at 10:30 am, both held Wednesday, January 3 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3030 N. Amidon, Wichita, Kansas with Fr. Fogliasso officiating. Graveside will follow at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
