DIANNA (REFFNER)
WIRTHS
Jun 29, 1956 — Jul 10, 2026
Dianna Kay Wirths, 70, passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2026, in Wichita, KS. She was born on June 29, 1956, in Newton, KS to Ed and Carol Reffner of Valley Center. She was a lifelong resident of Valley Center, graduating in 1974. After graduation, she attended Fort Hays State University where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a Registered Nurse with The Dermatology Clinic for 37 years.
Dianna was a very gifted artist, creating many pieces of stained glass, watercolors, pencil sketches, handmade jewelry, and more. She loved to travel with her husband and loved to collect coffee cups and thimbles on their many trips. Of those trips, her favorite was Scotland and Ireland in 2015 for their 25th wedding anniversary. She was always willing to go along with Jim’s crazy ideas, always making forever friends along the way.
She was an avid reader, especially the Outlander Series. She loved spending time with friends and family as often as she could. She loved taking the grandkids to the zoo and out for ice cream. She enjoyed a good garage sale, going shopping with her girls and her closest friends, and lunch dates with her sisters-in-law. She spent several years on a bowling team and played Bunco – always up for a good time! She was the first one to sign up for new adventures from art classes to yoga and whatever else she could find! Her favorite motto was “If all else fails, put some Vaseline on it!”
Preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Carol and brother, Steve Reffner.
Survived by her loving husband, Jim of 36 years; children Mike (Nikki) Wirths of Wichita, Renee (Keith) Frisk of Maize, Lisa (Anthony) Miner of Maize and Sarah (Scott) Torrance of Manhattan, KS. Grandchildren; Greysin, Megan, Aden, Kylie, Bryce, Lucas and Ben. Great Grandchildren, Owen and Jensen; a very vast extended family, as well as many cherished friends that she considered family.
Although our hearts are completely broken, we take comfort knowing she is at peace and free of pain. She will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at 7:00pm and Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 15th at 10:30am, both at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3642 N Ridge Road, Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the library of Saint Catherine Church.
