Klick, Dennis Hugh, 66, retired Gates Rubber Company, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Yates Center, Kansas. He was born in Chanute, Kansas to Henry Hugh Klick and Helen Louise (Otto) Klick. After graduating from Yates Center High School in 1963, he attended Kansas State, Neosho County Community College and Allen County Community College. He was united in marriage to Loretta Marlar on February 26, 1967. To this union three daughters were born. Countless hours of the family's time was tied to 4-H. He was an active 4-H leader for 25 years. Dennis was initially employed by KDOT and later partnered in a floral business in Yates Center. Several years were spent at Sedan Floral, Pleasant Hill Missouri Floral, Bird & Handly Oil Company and Brown Ranch. He worked as the Woodson County Noxious Weed Director 13 years. After retiring from Gates Rubber he enjoyed spending time at the Lone Pine Game Bird Reserve. However, his most valued time was with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by father, Henry; step-father, Verle Bachelder; grandparents, Walter and Olive Otto, Luther and Alice Klick; brother-in-law, Arthur Edwards Jr. He is survived by his mother, Helen Bachelder; daughters, Cindy (Brandon) Baker of Yates Center, Latrisha (Daniel) Larner of Bentonville, AR and Jeania (Tom) Embry of Fort Scott, KS; grandchildren, Krais, Tayla, Bethany, and Gideon Baker; sister, Linda Edwards of Valley Center; step-brothers, Jerry (Joyce) Bachelder, Don Bachelder; step-sister Janice (Don) Riley. Services 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, 307 S. Grove, Yates Center.
