David Gene Hensley
, 64, of Valley Center, died May 15, 2017. David was born in Wichita, KS to Jack and Bertie Hensley. He graduated from Valley Center High School, and was a lifelong resident of Valley Center. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft Company. David served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in the Vietnam War, between the years of 1971-1981. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Bertie Hensley, brothers Darrel and Richard, and son Jeremy. David is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Farthing) Hensley, a daughter Jessica (Wade) Davis, a brother Terry (Deborah) Hensley, a grandson Quentin Davis, nephews Cody, Jacob and Chris Hensley, sister-in-law Rhonda (Jim) Presley, brother-in-law Ron (Pat Noullet) Farthing, father-in-law Ronald Farthing and mother-in-law Sonia Farthing. A celebration of David's life will be held Saturday, May 20th at 6 p.m. at Spirits Pub in Valley Center. David was a passionate friend to animals of all kinds. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in David's name to Lifeline Animal Protection and Placement (LAPP), 310 W. 45th North, Wichita 67204 - www.lifelineanimalplacement.org.
