Obituary

David Burdick of Valley Center, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A long-time resident of Valley Center, he was born Sunday, January 02, 1949, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Alvin and Mary Ellen Burdick. He grew up in Nickerson, Kansas, graduated from Nickerson High School, and then attended Hutchinson Juco.  He married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Nafzinger, on August 31, 1968.  After enlisting in the US Air Force, his wife Jackie accompanied him when he was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany, for 2 years. After the service, he worked for Southwestern Bell as a lineman and later for AT&T, making a career out of Telephony. After retiring, he founded CTA, Inc., a telecommunications company in Wichita, KS, in 1985.

Dave was a devoted family man, loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest joy was hunting with his dog, family, and friends on his farm. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, family holidays, and get-togethers.

He is survived by his wife Jackie; his son Eric; his daughter Erin; his grandchildren Ashley and Justin; and his sisters Lynn Lambkin, Dianne Sisk, and Kim Bergin. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
