Rev. David Whitfield Bishop, 85, retired Pastor went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2014. He was born in Newton, Massachusetts to E. Fay Bishop and Edith (Blakeney) Bishop. He was raised in Masschusetts where he loved being outdoors, the ocean and he earned his Eagle Scout. David followed his heart for learning and ministering so he continued his education at Andover Newton Theological where he received his doctorate. On May 24, 1953, in Lindsborg, Kansas, he married the love of his life, Donna. (Anderson) Bishop. David was a Pastor for over 40 years, ministering to many families. He enjoyed and loved his family most of all. He is survived by his wife Donna J. Bishop; children, Cathy Bishop of Wichita, Chris Hicks of Wichita, Diane (Bill) Woolsey of Wichita, Andrew (Kristi) Bishop of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren Jennifer (Brian) Gragg, Eric (Amanda) Woolsey, Oliver Bishop and Linden Bishop; great grandchildren Justin Woolsey, Collin Woolsey, Easton Woolsey, Zoe Gragg, Nolan Gragg and Hayden Gragg; sister Fayth (Don) Canning of Waltham, Massachusetts; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents E. Fay and Edith Bishop, sister Nita Bishop and son-in-law David Hicks. Memorials may be designated to Ottawa University in his memory.
