STERLING, KS
Merian, Darlene Pearl, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and retired pastor's wife, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas to Ora Wesley Flora and Nellie Pearl (Stoughton) Flora. Darlene grew up and graduated from Sterling High School. She went to Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where whe met her husband of 59 years. Before returning to Sterling, Kansas, six years ago. Darlene lived in Littleton, Colorado where her children and grandchildren lived. She loved walking and hiking the trails. Active in full-time ministry as a pastor's wife, she played the piano, led youth choirs, and supported her husband's ministry while raising a family. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Walter F. Merian; children, Rebecca J. Moore of Sterling, KS, Fred (Lisa) Merian of Littleton, CO and Jeffrey Merian of Sterling; granddaughter, Alexis Moore; brother, George (Nina) Flora of Eldon, MO; sister, Mary Dudley of Hillsboro. She is preceded in death by her dad, Ora Flora, mom Nellie Flora Krause, brother Victor Flora and sister LeVina Flora. Services 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19, at United Presbyterian Church, 309 N.
