Danny Lee Swafford, born in Anthony, KS. on June 17, 1954 to Lloyd & Myrtle (Terry) Swafford, passed at Mount Hope, Ks. Nursing Center on December 17, 2020.

Danny attended elementary school in Hazelton, KS. and graduated from Kiowa High School. After high school graduation, he graduated from North Central Technical College in Beloit, KS. Danny was a hard worker, working for both Missouri Pacific & Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years. He worked as a welder, truck driver and heavy equipment operator. His Road Master depended on Danny to always be willing to work at anytime and in any kind of weather.

Danny was a people person and he always liked helping people. He was very generous with both work & volunteering. He belonged to the Masons &  Shriners at Kiowa, KS. He was a fireman for the City of Hazelton, being Assistant Fire Chief at times.  Was Sexton at the Rose Hill Cemetery and was on the Hazelton City Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Myrle D & Douglas Alan, sister-in-law Shirley Swafford, brother-in-law Brad Watkins, 2 nephews Michael & Joshua.

He is survived by brother, William (Bill) & wife Jannette of Grove, OK, sisters Karen (Swafford) Martin and husband Jim of Hutchinson, KS and Pamela (Swafford) Watkins, of Wichita, KS, and nieces & nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton, KS.

A memorial donation may to be given to Mount Hope Nursing Center for Danny"s excellent care for over two years. Memorials may be sent to Mount Hope Nursing Home (Attn: Gina Terry), 704 E. Main, Mount Hope, Kansas 67108.
