Obituary

Dale L. Wilson, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in Bel Aire, Kansas with his wife Judy at his side.

He was born to Dale O and Henrietta Wilson on June 12. 1944 in Dodge City, Kansas. He attended school in Wichita, Benton, Kechi and Derby.  He was a 1963 graduate from Derby High School.

Dale worked as a Machine Operator at Easton Manufacturing before attending electronics school.  He then started working at Beech Aircraft as an Avionics Technician.  He also repaired TV's and appliances. He retired from Beech in 2009 after 33 years of service.

On August 9, 1969, he married Judy Jacob in Valley Center. After living in Wichita a few years they moved to Park City where they resided to present.  To this union were 3 sons S cott, Billy and Donnie (deceased).  A s a boy, he was active in Boy Scouts.  When his boys became members of Pack and Troop 494 he continued to support their activities. He enjoyed fishing and stamp collecting.  For 40 years he was a volunteer Hunters Education Instructor for the State of Kansas. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Dale never met a stranger.  One of his favorite things to do was to sit at the Wal-Mart entrance and tell people "don't you smile" or something similar.  He also had a few jokes he would say to people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sherry, brother Larry and son Donnie.

Survivors include his wife Judy, sons Scott (Anne) of Valley Center and Billy of Wichita; g randchildren Tyler Wilson, Jason Wilson, Kaytee Bratton, Kelsey Bratton, (Jacob Dunsworth), Preston Bratton. Gabbi Wilson and Gavin Wilson; g reat-grandchildren, London Bratton, Raelynn and Dalton Dunsworth. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday. August 12 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday August 13 at 10:00 a.m., b oth at First United Methodist Church, 560 N Park, Valley Center, Kansas 67147. Graveside following at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley - Sedgwick, Kansas. Memorials in Dale's memory may be designated to the church.
