Claude L.
Bennett
July 14, 1946 – September 17, 2024
Claude L Bennett, 78, passed away on the 17th day of September 2024 in Wichita Kansas.
He was born in Wichita, KS to Benjamin Custer Bennett and Viola Mae Marsh Bennett. He was a lifelong resident of Wichita with a few stints to Mena, AR and Grove, OK. He attended and graduated 8th grade at Arkansas Avenue School. After graduating, he worked at Wichita House and Window Company to eventually become a machinist at Boeing aircraft.
Claude enjoyed playing cards. He always had a big bag of change ready to play when a poker game was mentioned. He would get so excited when he got to teach the grandkids and great grandkids how to play cards whether it was poker, spades or just plain go fish. Claude loved camping and fishing. He would wake up early in the morning and sit outside as the sun rose, drinking his coffee.
Family gatherings were a big joyous time for him. He loved sitting and watching the little ones playing out in the yard. When the grandkids were younger, they used to go to Grandpa and Grandma's house for swimming parties. Memories were made they will never forget.
Claude is survived by his wife Teresa Bennett. His four sons – Lonnie Bennett (Rhonda), Rusty Bennett (Andrea), Chris Bennett (Michelle), and Danny Bennett (Melinda) and his daughter Shannon Foster. He has 14 grandkids and 17 great grandkids.
Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 28th, 2024 – 11:00am at Kechi Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside Ave, Park City, KS 67219.
