Obituary

WICHITA, KANSAS

CHARLIE  LEONARD  RICH  JR. , 86, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Charlie was born September 18, 1933 in Gridley, Kansas.  He was a graduate of Gridley High School.  He was a Korean War Veteran with the US Army. He married the love of his life, Lola, in 1957. He was a proud letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 33 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, shot archery, trained dogs, collected John Deere memorabilia and loved to play pitch with family and friends. He was an artist in such crafts as painting, wood working and leather work.  His wood working resulted furniture and his leather work resulted in purses, men's and women's bill folds, moccasins and saddles. His greatest treasure was his family.  He is survived by his wife, Lola Rich of 62 years; children, Teresa King (Darrel) of Sedgwick, Ks, Gregory Rich (Tandy) of Wichita, Ks, Tina Garrett (Michael) of Wichita, Ks;  his brother Dean Rich (Charlotte) of Gridley, Ks; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Rich Sr. and Gladys (White) Rich of Gridley, Kansas.

Visitation and viewing will be held 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center Chapel. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 2, at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas.  Condolences may be left for the family at  www.bakerfhvc.com
