Reverend Charles Eugene (Gene) Westerman, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born in Raymondsville, Missouri to Edith (Cummins) Westerman and Thurman Westerman.
He attended and graduated from McClure High School in Florrisant, Missori. Before attending college he met the
love of his life, Shirley. They were soon wed and had their two sons, Mike and David. At this time Gene decided to pursue his education in Ministry. He attended college at Warner Southern College in Lake Wells,
Florida where he studied Pastoral Ministry. Throughout his career he and his family traveled across the country serving churches in several states. After serving in the Ministry for several years, Gene and
Shirley were blessed with their daughter Diana. Gene loved the Lord and enjoyed singing and serving in all aspects of his ministry. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his children, Mike Westerman (Carrie) of Valley Center, David Westerman and Diana Westerman of Wichita; grandchildren, Amanda Westerman and Aaron Westerman of Valley Center; and sister
Burnadean Bach of St. Peters, MO; and nephew Sean Littlejohn of St. Louis, MO; many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Westerman; parents, Edith and Thurman Westerman; and sister, Judy Barden.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 14th at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 14th at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Kansas Food Bank.
