, 82, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born in Denver, Colorado on November 21, 1932 to Fred and Alma (Schiffendecker) Russell. He was a 1950 graduate of Dodge City High School, Dodge City, Kansas. Charlie worked for Kindsvater Casterline Seeds and Peoples Natural Gas of Dodge City, Houston Pipeline of Houston, Texas and Enron of Corpus Cristi, Texas. He was a 32nd degree Mason having been in for 50 years. On June 27, 1986 in Corpus Cristi, Texas, he married Ruby (Swain) Salem. After retiring in 1990 Charlie bought a charter boat and ran the Island Fever. He loved making new friends on the boat, fishing with new and old friends. His best fishing buddies were Jack and Eva Maynor, Shawn Maynor, Mell and Collen Reinke. Charlie loved to call to tell you the new yoke he just heard or if you were visiting them at Grand Lake, yelling out "Let's go catch and release some fish." He loved to see what buttons he could push on Ruby and she would holler back "Now look here old man" and making him laugh. He loved spending time with his family and never got tired of being told how much you loved him. Charlie is survived by his wife Ruby; son Mike Russell of Kingsdown, Ks; daughter Dana Bray of Olathe, Ks; 5 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters; sisters Judy (Roy) Austin of Bucklin, Ks and Jane (Russ) Naylor of Newton, Ks; step-son Daniel (Janice) Salem of Ulysses, Ks; step-daughters Cynthia (Thomas) Daniel of Ford, Ks and Deb (Gary) Shaw of Bellefonte, PA; 17 step grandchildren, 54 step great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, step granddaughter Amber and great great granddaughter Kristen.
