Obituary

CHARLES  'CHUCK'  MANDUS  JOHNSON, 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.  He was born September 17, 1927 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to Mandus Simon Johnson and Alta Lorraine Moore Johnson.

Charles attended schools in Warrens and Viroqua, Wisconsin and served in the United States Army and Air Force from 1946 to 1953.  He moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1954 where he married Shirley M. Johnston in 1957.  They celebrated 64 years of marriage and had two children.

Charles was employed at Boeing Aircraft, United States Civil Service and Beech Aircraft Corporation until his retirement in 1996.  Charles enjoyed numerous hobbies including renovating houses, restoring classic cars, vegetable gardening, antique clocks, model railroading and collecting model cars.  He was a gifted master woodworker, which was his favorite hobby.  He was always busy working on projects and tremendously generous in sharing his talents with others.

Charles is survived by his wife Shirley, son Scott, daughter Jolene, brother Arbah Johnson, many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Interment:  Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Parsons, Kansas.
