Allen, Charlene Violet (Hess), 83, retired Hallmark Realty agent, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at home with her family by her side, in Kechi, Kansas after a long battle with Alzheimer's, on Thursday, January 5, 2012. She was born in Clay Center, Kansas to Charlie and Violet (Green) Hess. Charlene was united in marriage to Jesse Edwards on January 11, 1947. She later married John Allen in Wichita where they lived there before retiring to what was their home, and commonly called "the farm". They enjoyed the quiet country life there, spending time working around the farm trying to keep up with nature's habit of taking over. But, mostly they enjoyed viewing the animals around the area, and often hunting or fishing for a tasty meal. She and John loved to go to the mountains of Colorado camping and often brought home fresh caught trout. Charlene loved the country life, and taught her children to love the great outdoors as well. She is survived by her children, Dianna Edward of Studio City, CA, William (Mary) Edwards of Liberty Hill, TX, and James Edwards of Kechi; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
