Cathy Marie (Scanlon) Hume was born October 8, 1955 to James Vincent Scanlon and Wanda (Reid) Scanlon. She passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her mother Wanda Scanlon, father James Scanlon, husband Leonard Hume, sons James V. Hume and John E. Hume.

She is survived by her children David (Darlene) Hume, Naomi (Robert) Hume, and sister Cynthius ( Susan) Scanlon; and her bonus family Tracie (Ernest) Thompson; 10 grandchildren: Ernest , Chavontea , Steven (Trinity), Christopher, Nicholas, Hannah, Alyssa, Xavier, Katie and Hezekiah; 8 great grandchildren; many other family and friends.

Cathy met and married Leonard C. Hume. She gained two beautiful children, David and Naomi; they later adopted James and John from Saipan where Leo was stationed in the Airforce.  They were stationed  several places around the U.S. and settled in Grandview, Kansas where Leo was a weather man at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Cathy briefly worked with social services and then was a homemaker.  Cathy and Leo's favorite place to go and visit was Disney World where they became kids again. Her favorite characters were Tinker Bell and Minnie Mouse, favorite ride was the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster probably because they blast Aero Smith through out the ride!  She also enjoyed crafting, journaling, writing, cooking and sewing.  Cathy and Leo moved to Goddard, Kansas, and then to Rose Hill where they lived out their golden years.
