CAROLYN JOAN (WALTERS) HECKENDORN, 72, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas to Richard Vincent Walters and Edris Mildred (Davis) Walters. She was a graduate of El Dorado High School, El Dorado, Kansas and Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri. In May, 1982, she married the love of her life, Dean C. Heckendorn. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She retired from Hesston Manufacturing after 28 years. She was a past president of Newton Eagles Auxiliary and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband Dean Heckendorn; son Chris Carroll and wife Tina of Spring, Texas; grandchildren C.J., Caleb and Anisah; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her son John Carroll II, granddaughter Chelsea Carolyn Carroll and sister Sara Cook. A private family burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery, El Dorado, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be at a later date. Memorials may be designated in her memory to the Eagles Auxiliary in Newton, Kansas. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center.
