Obituary

Carolyn Belle Jacob Foutch, 90, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020.  She was born August 30, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas to Harry George Jacob and Bea Belle McDavitt Jacob.  Carolyn was a 1947 graduate of Bentley High School and then attended Oklahoma State A&M (now OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  While attending OSU, Carolyn met Gordon Foutch and they were married in 1952.  Carolyn graduated with a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  She worked as a teacher and area coordinator at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, raising a variety of plants and flowers and traveling throughout the United States.  She devoted her life to her family and raising two daughters.

Carolyn is survived by her brother David Jacob; daughters Kim Potts and Andrea Foutch; grandchildren Andrew Johns, Joel Potts, and Jaclyn Potts Sullivan; great granddaughter Piper Sullivan; and many other family and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers a memorial may be given in her memory to the Lewis Township Fire and Rescue in Council Bluffs, IA.  Please make checks payable to Lewis Township Fire and Rescue and mail to Kim Potts, 708 Emge Road, O'Fallon, MO  63366.
