Carole (Ralston)
Boyle
December 29, 2018
Carole A. (Ralston) Boyle of Wichita, formerly of Hutchinson, passed away on Saturday December 29th, 2018 after a brief but brave fight with CNS lymphoma. She was with family and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Freda (Sandy) Ralston and Harold Ralston and her brother, Richard Ralston. Surviving family members include her daughter, Marisa (Boyle) Newfelt and son in law Chris Newfelt, both of Wichita. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong family friends that she loved dearly.
Carole was born on Friday, October 18,1946 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Three days before her 6th birthday, she was taken to the hospital, gravely ill. She woke up on her 6th birthday, paralyzed from the neck down, stricken with Polio during the epidemic of 1952. After months of treatment and physical therapy, she regained the use of all but her legs. This never slowed her down, however. Over the span of her very full life, she graduated from Hutchinson High School, class of 1965 and obtained her associates degree with a major in music from Hutchinson Community College. She would be married and divorced twice, travel all over the U.S. and visit Mexico, go skiing, chase hot air balloons with the Kansas Highwinders and eventually get to fly in one, have a baby (although she was told she was unable), meet celebrities and attend many, many concerts. She loved watching movies and going out to eat with friends and family. She also carried a deep passion for music of all kinds. Carole will be remembered as a spontaneous, fun-loving, free spirit. She was kind-hearted and generous. She loved spending time with people and always had a smile on her face. She could make just about anyone's bad day, good. Her presence is greatly missed, but her family and loved ones find solace in the knowledge that she is in Heaven, free from the physical disabilities she had on Earth.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4 th Ave., Hutchinson, Kansas. All are welcome. A memorial service will be held in Wichita, date and location to be determined. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com .
