Carol Ann (Hartung) Hansell
, 78, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank and Hannah (Sheehan) Hartung. She was a graduate of Bishop Ward High School and Nursing School. Carol was a current member of All Saints Church, Wichita, Kansas. She also was a previous member of the Songbirds of Sheridan Village. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and always sang to her children and grandchildren "I Love You a Bushel and a Peck". She was very active in Overland Towers organization of Senior Living in Overland Park, Kansas. Her pre retirement years were spent as a Child Support Enforcement Office Clerk. Her other joys came from donating to the Humane Society and shopping on QVC. In her early years she enjoyed Camping, swimming, boating and softball. She was a major believer that the Blessed Virgin Mary was a direct line to God and collected many beautiful statutes sharing them with her family. As a last and most unselfish act, she was an Organ Donor with the Midwest Transplant Network. She is survived by her faithful companion "Bully"; children Karen (Gary) Stroble, William "Will" Whitlock, Michael Whitlock, Amy (Dave) Hallacy, Dana Whitlock; sister-in-law Adelaide Hartung; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband William D. Whitlock, Sr, son Steven L. Whitlock, granddaughter Jennifer Whitlock, grandsons Craig J. Stroble and Jake Hallacy, son-in-law Ronald CJ Stroble, parents Frank and Hannah Hartung, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation with family will be held from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, December 30 at Baker Funeral Home 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
