Brenda Ann Koehn. 72, of Wichita died unexpectedly, June 2, 2021. She was a loving and caring wife, friend to all, a special person who enhanced the spirits and lives of all she met. Brenda will be greatly missed.

Brenda was born April 15, 1949 to Inez and Fred Glidewell in Topeka, Ks. She attended country school in Shawnee County, graduated Shawnee Heights High School, and then earned a Home Economics degree from Washburn University. She was proud of her 34 year career of working with Kansas kids, starting at Hanston, Ks, through Garden City and then retiring from Valley Center High School in 2006. Brenda met her husband, Arden, at her first teaching assignment. They were married August 14, 1976. Brenda was active in her teaching profession, serving in several leadership roles and piloting new curriculum. She was an excellent teacher. Brenda was recognized as on the ten Teacher of the Year finalist in 1990. One highlight of her career was sponsoring a State Department teacher/student exchange with Kazakhstan. She traveled three different times with Valley Center students to Kazakhstan, then hosting Kazakhstan teachers and students when they came to Valley Center High School. She would often share her Kazakhstan experiences.

Proceeding in death were parents, Fred and Inez Glidewell, brother, Jimmy Glidewell and nephew, Jared Glidewell.

Brenda is survived by husband, Arden, nephews: Dustin Glidewell(Marie), Jim Koehn, Dan Koehn (Robyn), niece Jennifer (Jared deceased), sister in law, Rita Koehn. Survivors also include great nieces and nephews, and many others in her church family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and Brenda's Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Northside Church of Christ.
