Brenda Jean Blackburn, 74, of Newton, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Ernest E. Blackburn and Mable Jean Childers.  She retired from the Newton School District Food Service & Nutrition after many years of service.

She enjoyed raising and caring for plants, yet her greatest love and enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Blackburn and Mable Casey, , her son Ernie Howell, sister Deborah Wyatt, granddaughter Ashley Terbovich.

Brenda is survived b y her children Chris Howell, Benie Howell, Virginia Stanford (Corey), Jack Kasney (Lori) and Melissa Trevizo, 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brothers Paul Blackburn and Michael Woods, other family and friends.

Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 17, at King Park Shelter, 200 N. Ridge, Hesston, Kansas.
