Beverly Kaye (Drabek) Wood was born June 28, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to E.J. and June Drabek.  Beverly passed away on March 3, 2015 in Wichita, Kansas with her daughter Cassie, sister Kathy and family friends. Beverly made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at Crown Heights Baptist Church.  She graduated from Oklahoma Christian School and attended Wichita State University. Beverly enjoyed a successful career with Merrill Lynch.  Following the birth of her daughter, Cassandra "Cassie" Jewel Wood in 1992, Beverly transferred her energies to real estate, where she owned and managed multiple properties throughout Wichita and the surrounding communities.  This career change afforded Beverly the time and opportunity to dedicate herself to the rearing of Cassie.  As mother and daughter they possessed a very close bond and love for one another.  Beverly was exceedingly proud of Cassie's many accomplishments, especially her attendance at and graduation from Kansas State University.  She became an enthusiastic K-State football fan who thoroughly enjoyed watching every game and cheering for her team. Beverly maintained an excellent friendship with Cassie's father, Doyle Wood, who co-parented and was a close confidant.  Beverly was a talented and natural cook.  Her homemade salsa was well-known, and she frequently bottled it to give as gifts.  No family holiday was complete without Beverly's deviled eggs, and she took pride in teaching her special recipe to others in the family.  Since the loss of her father nearly 12 years ago, Beverly was of great support to her mother.  Beverly exhibited boundless generosity toward family and friends as evidenced in part by her joy in selecting unique and thoughtful gifts perfectly suited for the recipient.  Her big laugh, love for her daughter and mother, and her giving spirit will be missed. Beverly is preceeded in death by her father, E.J. Drabek. She is survived by her daughter, Cassie Wood, her mother, June Drabek, her siblings, Claude Drabek, Kathy Farrow and Charlotte Mitchell, six nieces and nephews, a great niece and a great nephew, and her precious dog, Bella. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given in her memory in care of the family to designate. Funeral services will be held at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015.
