Betty Marie Wood, 89, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022. She was born in Kinsley, Kansas to George D. and Bertha (Kiddoo) Buckmaster. She received her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and her Master's of Library Science from Emporia State University. Betty worked as a Medical Librarian at Via Christi St. Francis, retiring after many years of service. She was an exceptional seamstress, gourmet cook, loved to knit and embroider. She was gifted in so many different areas. Her vibrant personality was a blessing at work and in all the organizations she volunteered with.

Betty married the love of her life, Arthur Lee Wood on August 16, 1953 in Kinsley, Kansas. Art preceded her August 16, 2016 after 63 years of marriage. She was also preceded by sons Jay Wood and Bruce Wood, her parents and sister.

Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law Mayumi Soma and grandson Kai, both of Tono, Japan; a niece Linda, cousins and many dear friends. She and Art donated many volunteer hours to the Wichita Symphony, the WSU Music Associates and Chamber Music at the Barn.
