Obituary

BETTY MARIE (DAY) BERRY , 72, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017. She was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Cecil W. Day, Jr. and Waltina R. (Minney) Day. She attended schools there, then in Wichita where she was a 1963 Wichita Heights High School graduate. She started working at the Park City Drug Store at the soda fountain where she met her future husband. She later worked at Tree Top Nursery and Snacks Convenient Store. On February 1, 1964 she married the love of her life, Ronald L. Berry. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed baking, sewing, ceramics, reading and activities with her family the most. She is survived by her mother, Waltina Day; husband of 53 years, Ronald Berry; children, Randy Berry, Ronna (Rob) Hammel and Julie (Shawn) Birmingham; 8 grandchildren, Taryn, Tristyn and Taitlyn Berry, Cody and Katie Hammel, Colton (Kaci) Berry, Lauron and Jaydon Birmingham; great grandson Gavin Berry; siblings: Peggy House, Jimmy (Charlene) Day, Joe (Beverly) Day, Becky (Ray) Stokes, sister-in-law Susie Brim and brother-in-law Herb Kreihbel; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her dad, Cecil Day and brother Johnnie Day. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 19 at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Service 10 a.m., Thursday, July 20, at First Christian Church, 514 N. Franklin, Sedgwick. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Ks 67202.
