Barbara J. Thomas, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Newton, KS on November 18, 2025.

She was born on July 23, 1946, in Hillsboro, KS, to Leland and Lois Weber of Marion.

On November 20, 1964, she married Floyd A. Thomas, with whom she shared many cherished years. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, and two brothers.

She worked in the mortgage and banking industry for the majority of her career. Weekends were spent with family, fishing, gardening, digging in old junk piles for antique bottles, and other outdoor activities. She was a master at making pie crusts and immensely enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Vicki (David) Harder and Jeff Thomas of Newton, KS, and Scott Thomas of Great Falls, MT. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Andrew (Lorisa) Harder of Newton and Alexander Harder of Olathe, Joshua, Tiffany, Xaria and Amelia Thomas of Montana, and her great-grandchildren: Lillian and Allison Harder, and Austin and Addyson Rich, all of Newton. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Margaret (Ora) Hett of Marion.

At Barbara's request, a private family burial will be held.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
