Barbara Lee (Graham) Penning, 85, of Whitewater, Kansas entered her Father's Kingdom on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Barbara was a country girl, and eventually became a suburb girl, growing up, really, in Grandville, Michigan. She married her husband, Stu, on June 5, 1958. They parented three children, Wendy, Tom, and Greg. Barbara had a number of interesting jobs and activities she took part in. She collected antiques for many years, until she became one herself. She loved crafts, and was often busy sewing, making, and in recent years, coloring. She was a secretary in her early years, and later worked in daycare, public television, and nursing home activities. Stu and Barbara completed their retirement by relocating to Kansas early in 2016. Her favorite things to do included hanging around with her best friend and husband, including going for drives, Big Larry's, the Library, and whenever anyone visited.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Errol Graham, and her sister, Mary McNay.

She is survived by her husband Stuart Penning, children Wendy (Hank) Sikkes, Tom (DeAnne) Penning, Greg (Melissa) Penning; grandchildren Michael Sikkes, Rebecca (Tony) VandenHoel, Rachel (Andy) Herlofsky, Joel Penning, Claire (Tobias) Davis, and Dakota Campbell; great grandchildren Judah and Analeigh VandenHoek, Jonny Herlofsky, Willa David and Marting Davis.

Funeral services at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater, Kansas 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wheat State Manor, 601 N. Main St., Whitewater, Kansas 67154.
