Obituary

Barbara Joyce Barber, more affectionately known as "Mimi," passed away quietly on April 26th shortly before noon. Known for her effervescent personality and aquamarine hairdo, Mimi was one of a kind.  A transplant from Lexington, Kentucky, Mimi lived out her last few years in Valley Center, Kansas.  Her greatest passion outside of her family was her love of reading.  She was a regular at the Valley Center Public Library.  You will be missed and we treasure our memories of you.
Mimi is survived by her two daughters, Evonne Highley and Carolyn Bebermeyer; sons-in-law Larry Highley and Arlan Bebermeyer.  Mimi had six grandchildren, Kelli Bebermeyer, Andrea Highley, Emily Shively, Montana Highley, Lora Bebermeyer, and Audrey Bebermeyer.  Mimi had one great-granddaughter, Everleigh.  She is also survived by Kelli's boyfriend, Brandon Mason, Emily's husband, Gabe Shively, Montana's wife, Hope Highley, Audrey's fiancé, Marcus Wirth and her brother, Charles Ernest Durbin.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Powell, father, Charles Durbin, sister, Jeannie Newby, brother, Terry Durbin, brother-in-law, Lloyd Newby, & niece, Debbie Watts.
