WICHITA, KANSAS

AUDREY MARIE (HERME) MATIAS , 65, loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born in rural Austin, Mower County, Minnesota to Lester Lloyd Herme and Geneva Inez (Davidson) Herme. She had a vibrant big personality full of life. She embraced each person and never knew a stranger. Her love of music led her to singing in the church choir, doing cantatas and ministering through songs. She enjoyed crafting, shopping and wearing her hats, bringing joy to all she met. Most of all, she had a deep love for her family. She is survived by her husband Manuel Matias; sons Tim (Stacy) Matias of Valley Center, KS and Kevin (Sharla) Matias of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren Danielle, Nathan and Amber; brother Duane (Cathy) Herme of Brooklynn Center, MN; brother-in-law Benjamin (Socorro) Matias of Wichita, KS; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Geneva Herme. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9 at Faith Church, 325 N. Emporia, Valley Center.
