Annis (Ann) S. Wright passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the age of 78, in Mt. Hope, KS. She was born in Mount Holly, NJ to Edward and Wanda Williams (Filanowski) on June 5th, 1947. She grew up in Burlington, NJ, where she attended Burlington City High School. In 1966, she met Leo E. Wright, and they were married on September 2, 1966. During the first part of their marriage, Leo was in the Air Force, and they lived in various cities all while raising their four children. They settled in Valley Center after Leo retired from the Air Force and Ann worked as a dispatcher for Wichita Police Department from which she retired in 2000. Following retirement, they moved to Moline, KS where they lived for 20 years. After the passing of her husband in 2017, Ann eventually moved to Colwich, KS to be closer to family.
Ann was a devoted wife of 52 years, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Her family was truly her world, and she deeply valued her time with her children and always focused on family time. She greatly enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, school programs, and any activity they were involved in. Among these activities, Ann enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting blankets for her family. She also enjoyed reading books along with watching several crime series and game shows.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Wanda Williams; her two brothers, Matthew Williams and Robert Williams; her husband, Leo E. Wright; and her daughter-in-law, Christina Wright (Stephen).
